Ramsey injured -Walcott takes a knock -Chamakh sold -Suarez silent -Gustavo talks! happy

Morning Gooners.

Yet another member of the first team squad has departed, five days before the start of the Premier League season. This time it's Arsenal.com's duty to inform us that Marouane Chamakh has left the club to join Crystal Palace.

That leaves us with just 18 members of the first team who we know are fit for Saturday at the moment and two of them are goalkeepers! I'm seriously concerned that we'll be able to put out a team against Aston Villa  the rate Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis are selling off our players.

And to top that we've had to worry about the fitness of key players like Theo Walcott who is expected to play for England on Wednesday night against Scotland despite picking up a knock on his ankle in training yesterday which forced him to miss the remainder of the session.

"Theo took a slight knock at the end of training, but we believe he’ll be okay. He’s very much still in contention."

Hodgson has also been talking up the fact he will use Jack Wilshere carefully against Scotland.

The former Fulham and Liverpool manager said:
"I have not had the benefit of Jack Wilshere for a qualifying match or an important match so we are pleased to have him back.
"We are aware of the fact that Arsene is careful with him at Arsenal and I will be careful with him as well."
Elsewhere, Aaron Ramsey has been forced to withdraw from the Wales squad to face Ireland because of an ankle injury. Hopefully the move is precautionary because the midfielder has been in good form in pre-season.

Meanwhile Luis Suarez will not be talking about his future while on international duty this week as his agent prepares for fresh talks with Liverpool about the Uruguay international.

With reports Arsenal are to submit a third bid - still lower than Liverpool's £50m plus valuation circulate, Suarez will not speak about wanting to leave Anfield to the media before his country take on Japan.

And finally The Guardian report Luiz Gustavo has talked up a move to Arsenal from Bayern Munich.

He said:
"I have heard about the Arsenal interest. It's a big club we're talking about here so of course I'd like to play for them.
"Arsenal play a very attractive brand of football and are in the Champions League. They also have a very clever manager in Arsène Wenger. Even when Bayern beat them in the last Champions League [on aggregate] you could see they are not pushovers."
We're one of several clubs interested in signing the Brazilian and I think he'd make a much needed addition to our squad in terms of quality. He's also be an extra body in our extremely light squad.
