Monday 26th August – Arsenal daily transfer rumours and news round up

Arsenal are praying that the arrival of Gareth Bale at Real Madrid will enhance the discontentment brewing inside benched winger Angel di Maria, and that the 25 year old Argentine will finally accept the reality that he will need to move clubs to get regular first team football. The Gunners hope they can convince Real Madrid to part with the youngster with the Metro reporting that a 25.8 million pound bid is set to be tabled for the Argentine.
French midfielder Yohan Cabaye is apparently being a little diffident according to reports in the Independent, with the player allegedly having refused to play for Newcastle again in an attempt to force a move through to a bigger club this summer. Arsenal and PSG are believed to be his primary suitors.
Arsenal have once again been linked with a swoop for Dutch international keeper Tim Krul, with the Sun reporting that a 10 million pound bid can be expected from the Gunners for the 25 year old Newcastle United man. We would be inclined to disagree, and urge Arsenal fans to not get their hopes up about this one.
Crystal Palace could be Arsenal’s new favourite club with the Eagles not satisfied with having bought Marouane Chamakh alone, they have reportedly begun discussions with another Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner. Representatives of both parties reportedly met in a London hotel on Sunday in an attempt to thrash out a deal according to the Daily Mirror.
