Arsenal chase Man Utd winger Nani to replace Gervinho

Arsene Wenger will let him play in a more attacking central role – and he'll get more match time

NOW that Arsenal have finally got shot of Gervinho, are they about to make Manchester United an offer for Nani?
According to Caughtoffside.com, the Gunners were holding back from making a concrete offer for the 26-year-old Portuguese wide man until Roma signed Gervinho. With the Italian club having sealed the deal over the weekend, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is now ready to move and Caughtoffside believes the Nutty Professor is ready to meet Manchester's £9m valuation.
It's long been claimed that Nani has grown tired of being a bit-part player for United and rumours linking him to the Emirates first emerged in the summer.
New manager David Moyes is reportedly ready to put his faith in young Wilfried Zaha as his wing option and that's convinced Nani that a move to Arsenal would be just the shot in the arm his career needs. In addition, he's enthusiastic at the prospect of Arsenal using him in a more attacking central role rather than just a wingman.
Talksport claims that Newcastle target M'Baye Niang wants to stay put at AC Milan. Stories have suggested the Magpies are desperate to bring the 18-year-old frontman to the northeast before the transfer window closes at the end of this month. But despite struggling to break into the Milan first team, the teenage hotshot has declared his intent to tough it out at the San Siro for at least another season.
"I'm happy at Milan and I want to stay," he said. "I know what I can give to the team and I don't fear the competition for places.”
Sky Sports says that Fulham are in talks with Queens Park Rangers over a loan deal for Adel Taarabt. The Moroccan midfielder doesn't much fancy a season in the Championship and apparently a move back to the Premier League would go down a treat with the 24-year-old.
Sky claims QPR boss Harry Redknapp is prepared to release him, while his Rangers counterpart, Martin Jol, is a big fan of Taarabt. It's believed the two clubs are making good progress in thrashing out a deal and Taarabt is expected to have a medical later this week after which the move will become official.
One Rangers man who has already jumped ship is France international Loic Remy, who's joined Newcastle United on a season-long loan. The striker joined the Hoops in January in a £8 million move from Marseille but despite scoring six goals in 14 appearances he couldn't prevent their relegation to the Championship.
Now the 26-year-old has made the move to St James' Park and he couldn't be happier, according to the club's official website. "It will be a huge honour to play for such a big club," said Remy, who was chased by the Magpies before he joined Rangers. "The Premier League is the best league in the world and that's where I want to play." ·
