Arsenal are reported to be following Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, and are expected to table a bid for him soon.

The Frenchman has been on the radar of a number of clubs this summer, which include the Gunners’ domestic rivals Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea. However, if reports in Tuttomercatoweb are to be believed, the North Londoners might face the greatest competition from Spanish Giants Real Madrid, who are also reported to have taken a liking to the 20 year old.
Meanwhile, Sevilla coach Unai Emery told Marca: “We want him to stay here but there are circumstances that could lead to an exit. We will not make any movement to sell. There is no need to sell and we all know that in the club.”
By the ‘circumstances’, Emery most certainly means the Frenchman’s £8.5m release clause, if met, could see him leaving Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium this summer. This was confirmed by Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido, who was quoted telling reporters: “We have rejected an offer for Kondogbia – the bid was not sufficient. Our idea is that he continues growing at Sevilla, just like he did last year. But there is a release clause that says if we have a written offer of £8.5million, we must accept it and he can go.”
The Frenchman made 37 appearances for his club last season. He has also represented France at all youth levels from Under-16 to Under-20.
