Adebayor form 'reminiscent of Arsenal'

Adebayor form 'reminiscent of Arsenal'

Emmanuel Adebayor insists he has rediscovered the scoring touch that made him into a star at Arsenal as he continues to lead Tottenham's push for the Champions League.

Frozen out at Spurs earlier this season under former boss Andre Villas-Boas, Adebayor has scored nine times in 12 games since Tim Sherwood took the reins at White Hart Lane in December.
His double in Wednesday's 4-0 win at Newcastle took his tally to five goals in as many Premier League matches.
Adebayor scored 46 times in 104 appearances for Arsenal. His breakthrough season came in 2007-08, when he scored 30 goals to earn a place in the PFA Team of the Year.
He failed to hit the same heights again during spells at Manchester City, Real Madrid and his first two seasons at Spurs -- but now insists he is thriving again under Sherwood's guidance.
"The last time I was scoring like this was at Arsenal," said Adebayor following the win at St James' Park.
"The manager gave me a chance to play and has a big belief in me. The aim is to keep enjoying my football and see what I can achieve."
Spurs remain three points behind fourth-placed Liverpool, and Sherwood was quick to single out the performance of Adebayor at Newcastle.
Sherwood said: "He's an example for all young players to look up to - someone who applies himself on and off the pitch. He is a real credit to the club at this moment in time.
"He never leaves anything on the training field, he works very, very hard and mirrors that in matches."
