Mathieu Flamini: Everything is Possible When we Travel to Bayern

Mathieu Flamini has turned out to be a brilliant purchase for Arsenal, Bob Wilson argues.

Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini believes that the Gunners are capable of putting in a major second leg performance against Bayern Munich to progress into the next round.
The Gunners succumbed to a 2-0 loss at the hands of the German Champions and are on the verge of crashing out of the competition from the round of 16 for the second time in succession.
Arsenal started the game on a positive note, taking the game to arguably the best team in the world in the opening thirty minutes, where they managed to secure a penalty through some crafty skills from Mesut Ozil in the penalty box.
However, the German failed to press the initiative and missed the penalty, which gave Bayern the impetus to move forward and eventually kill the game.
Nevertheless, they were helped by the referee's decision to send off Wojciech Szczesny, who brought down Arjen Robeen in the box when the Dutchman was through on goal.
David Alaba missed the penalty but the sending off killed the game as the Gunners failed to cope with a rampant Bayern side who took the Gunners by the scruff of the neck and pressed their authority on the game.
Flamini believes that Arsenal can repeat their performance from last season where they beat Bayern 2-0 at the Allianz Arena but crashed out on away goals. A similar result will take the game into extra time where a result may not be out of the equation.
"Everything is possible. We hope we can go over there and play a big game with the same [first] 20 minutes that we did here. We need to continue our high pressing and try to score early in the game. I'm very proud for the performance of my team-mates because it was not easy, especially playing 10 v 11 against a team like Bayern," Flamini told www.arsenal.com.
"We started very well, we were pressing very high and we were creating opportunities so that was positive. Everyone gave everything until the last minute. Anyway now we have to focus on the next leg," he concluded.
