Arsenal are believed to be in the hunt to bring back former captain Robin van Persie according to reports today.
Robin van Persie reportedly told friends and family that he is considering leaving Manchester United in the summer.
Now reports are coming out of the Netherlands that a return to the Emirates Stadium could be on the cards with manager Arsène Wenger open to the idea.
There have been claims that Wenger has met with the Dutch ace’s agents.
Robin van Persie moved to Manchester United from Arsenal in the summer of 2012 for £24 million. He is currently on a £200,000-a-week salary which would likely need reducing should he want to re-join Arsenal.
Arsenal have reportedly been looking for a new striker for a while with only Olivier Giroud, Yaya Sanogo and Nicklas Bendter on their books currently.
Robin van Persie scored 96 goals in 194 Premier League matches for the Gunners between 2004-2012. He has scored 37 goals in 54 Premier League appearances for Manchester United, winning the 2012-13 Premier League title.
