Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil could be left in the cold again this weekend after the Gunners emphatic win over Sunderland. Ozil was dropped for the game at the Emirates on Saturday after a string of below-par performances, and Arsenal proved they didn't miss the German with a 4-1 victory. Arsenal travel to Stoke on Saturday – a ground they have often struggled at – and it is likely club record signing Ozil will not feature again. Lukas Podolski was given a rare start and, though he failed to get on the scoresheet, the extra attacking dimension seemed to work as Arsenal scored more than three goals in a Premier League match for the first time since October. Despite a bright start to his Arsenal career, Ozil has struggled in recent weeks – highlighted by an early penalty miss and subsequent poor performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last Wednesday. Ozil cost the Gunners £42.5 million from Real Madrid in the summer and was thought to be the high-profile signing the club needed to help end their eight year trophy drought.
