Club record £42.5m signing Ozil marked his home debut with a helping hand in all three Gunners goals as Wenger's men swept into top spot.
The Arsenal boss said: "Once he is completely integrated you will see even more, but he has shown today he is a great player. He gave a lift to everyone at the club. It's been a positive week for us. We won in Marseille, won against Sunderland - and won today.
"We are in a position where we can focus on improvement in a stable environment. That is a good basis for the rest of the season."
Ozil arrived from Real Madrid on deadline day with a reputation for his ability to create goals. Wenger added: "When you look at his numbers, the assists are not a coincidence. It is the reality of his game.
"The good players make a good pass and the bad players make a bad pass. Whether it is in Spain or in England, it is exactly the same .
"He has a good pace as well. A lot of focus is on his passing, but individually he can create."
Asmir Begovic. spilled Ozil's freekick to in-form Aaron Ramsey, who fired Arsenal ahead. Per Mertesacker and Bacary Sagna then scored from two Ozil set-pieces after Geoff Cameron's equaliser, as Arsenal made it seven wins on the bounce.

Asked about Walcott's injury, Wenger said: "He had an abdominal muscle problem.
"Is it a question of days? I hope so. He had a little problem before the Marseille game and it became a bit worse. It is a bit mysterious."
Courage Stoke manager Mark Hughes said: "Arsenal are a good team and have added a top-class player in Ozil, who had an influence today and I am sure that will continue.
"Three goals from set-pieces does not normally happen to Stoke teams. As a result, the game went away from us.
"We showed courage to get back into the match after the early goal.
"We're disappointed but I certainly thought we made a right fist of it.
"The third goal really knocked the stuffing out of us and really made it difficult to get back on terms.
"But up to that point I thought we were always in the game and always looking to play the right way."
