Despite continuing his excellent run of goalscoring form, Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey was left frustrated following Wales’ 2-1 defeat at the hands of Macedonia yesterday. The two sides met in a Group A World Cup qualifying match, with Wales previously looking to make an unlikely push for second place in the group. Instead, the Dragons look set to miss out once again following their most recent defeat.
Ramsey was on the scoresheet yet again for his country following a great start to the season with Arsenal, netting the equalizer from the penalty spot in the 39th minute. Jovan Kostovski’s goal ten minutes from time handed the hosts the win, and Ramsey vented his frustrations on his official Twitter account after the match.
Wales next take on Serbia on Tuesday from the Millenium Stadium, although they have little to play for now. Ramsey and his international colleagues will be looking to maintain their fitness and impress manager Chris Coleman.
Gareth Bale did not play for the Dragons in yesterday’s match, instead taking the defeat in from the stands following his late transfer window move to Real Madrid. The winger is yet to make a single competitive appearance for club or country this season.
