Incredible Ramsey's special role in Arsenal record -Walcott's aiming high

Incredible Ramsey's special role in Arsenal record -Walcott's aiming high

Morning Gooners.

The plaudits for Aaron Ramsey's amazing start to the season continue today following this team setting a new record for the amount of wins away from home.

Theo Walcott has spoken about the Welshman's run of form this season which has seen him score six goals in seven games. And it's led the to the Englishman describe the 21-year-old as being "incredible at the moment."

Walcott said:

"People would criticise his goalscoring [in the past], but I see him in training every day and he’s looking a totally different player.
"He’s like a new signing. It’s an absolute honour to play with him at the moment.
"Aaron had one of the worst injuries in football. He’s had a hard pre-season, he’s worked really hard and it’s definitely paying off now.
"He’s enjoying his football and it’s going to be difficult to get him off the pitch, I’m pretty sure of that."

As regular readers know, I'm a huge Ramsey fan. He's had a fantastic 2013. Something really clicked into place at the start of the year and he's not turned back. He's certainly in the form of his career at the moment and that's down to the hard work he's been putting in on the training ground, staying after sessions have finished to work on his game.

Ramsey is the only player to have played in all of our of the ten away games winning run. That says something about the Welshman's status in this team. At the moment he's probably the first name on the team sheet.

And Walcott has gone on to talk about our chances of winning silverware this season. He believes we have a chance.

He said:
"I think we’ll push on and we can definitely challenge this year, for sure.
"There is so much belief in this team at the moment and I think it’s showing. We just need to make sure we get that home form going now, the away form is absolutely fantastic.
"It’s 10 successive wins away from home, someone told me in the dressing room. It’s a record. I didn’t know that until after the game.
"To be part of a team that has done that, in the amount of years that Arsenal have existed, is a great honour and a great achievement for everyone."
Personally I think it's too early to be talking about winning trophies just yet. We're a month into the season and as we know, nothing is won in September. We've got to ensure we stick it out this season if we are to win something.

We've had tough matches but are yet to face one of last season's top three. I think we'll get more of an idea of where we'll finish once we've played one of those teams.

This side has bounced back from a disappointing opening day result against Aston Villa and we've gone on a run which has proved to a  lot of people we have the capacity to do something special. No other team has picked up as many points in 2013 in the Premier League as we have.

We've got to take advantage of the way the fixture list is and ensure that we take three points from every league game until we come up against tougher opposition to that we've already faced.

With the squad being reduced to its bare bones by injuries, we have to ensure we don't pick up any more. Sunday's game against Stoke could prove tricky as we know what we'll get with them... kicked.

But if we can keep this team fit and with the players coming back from injury still having a lot to contribute, there is always the chance we'll win a pot this season.
