Thomas Vermaelen: We Can Keep Out Suarez And Sturridge

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen believes Arsenal can cope with Liverpool’s deadly SAS strikeforce of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge when the sides meet at the Emirates on Saturday.
The pair have been superb this season, notching a combined 14 goals in the Premier League between them, and are the main reason why Liverpool are in such good form.
But with Arsenal sitting pretty at the top of the league, Vermaelen thinks the Gunners have the capability to deal with Liverpool’s fierce forwards.
“We know them from the past. We played a lot against Luis Suarez already, and of course I know him from my time in Ajax,” said Vermaelen to Sky Sports.
“Sturridge we played against last season. We know them both, they are playing well and quite dangerous. But now we need to keep going like we did the last couple of weeks.”
He added: ”We are top of the league. We should have a lot of confidence to beat Liverpool.”
