Arsenal MUST pull out all the stops to sign Lewandowski this winter

 

Every Gooner knows of the goal machine that is Robert Lewandowski, the Borussia Dortmund forward is set to face the Gunners in the Champions League shortly and it could be the perfect opportunity to show the Poland international what we’re made of.
The striker is seeing out his contract with the Bundesliga giants, meaning he is free to sign a new deal in January ahead of a potentially big-money-contract move to a new club in the summer.

Many thought it was a done deal with Bayern Munich, but either he is looking to spark a bidding war to increase his bumper salary package with the Bavarians or he geniunely has not made his mind up over his next destination.
The Pole has declared he is yet to make up his mind whether he will remain in Germany, with the prospect of Premier League football very enticing to the ambitious forward.
Manchester United as well as Chelsea will all be in for the frontman come January, but Arsenal should certainly consider doing all they can to lure Szczesny’s compatriot to Emirates Stadium.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Lewandowski insisted he is yet to confirm where he will be playing next season:

I will be able to sign a contract [with any club] in January, but I have never said that I will sign a contract with Bayern. It was a misunderstanding.
It is true I had an opportunity to speak with Sir Alex Ferguson [last year], but we didn’t mention the transfer.
One day I would like to play in Premier League. It would be a great experience.

The Gunners are in need of striking reinforcements with Olivier Giroud the automatic selection up front with Nicklas Bendtner the only other fit option. It seems unlikely that Wenger will be able to buy anyone better than the duo this winter, he will almost certainly stick with the options available to him with Podolski returning from injury shortly too.
Next summer will be an entirely different story, Bendtner’s contract expires and he will almost certainly move off unless he proves he is capable of producing for the Gunners.
Lewandowski would be an exceptional signing, and for free would make Wenger do backflip’s all around the Emirates. In order to secure his signature they will have to offer him exceptional wages with the likes of United and Chelsea on the case but it is achievable especially if Bendtner free’s up £52k a week.
With the signing of Ozil, a high league position and progression from the Champions League group come January, Arsenal will have a real shout at securing the Poland international for next season. In the summer it may have been easier to turn down the Gunners, but now it appears they are ready to battle for the title.
