Rodgers won't let Arsenal target Suarez 'sabotage' Liverpool's season
BRENDAN RODGERS will take a vow of silence over Luis Suarez in an attempt to avoid the saga "sabotaging" Liverpool's start to a pivotal campaign.
Suarez claimed that Rodgers said he could quit Liverpool this summer if the club did not qualify for the Champions League, while the manager has, in turn, called on the forward to apologise for his behaviour in trying force a move to Arsenal.
Liverpool maintain Suarez will not be sold and Rodgers says he will keep his counsel on the subject while the player serves the final six games of a 10–match suspension for biting Branislav Ivanovic. He is determined to focus solely on the club's bid to gatecrash the top four, which begins at home to Stoke City tomorrow.
What I want to concentrate on is the players available for this weekend, so I won't be speaking any more about Luis Suarez until he is available
"What I want to concentrate on is the players available for this weekend, so I won't be speaking any more about Luis Suarez until he is available. There is nothing to be said that has not already been said.
"There is too much good work gone on here for it to be overtaken by anything else. The players have set out, their concentration has been brilliant and we are all very determined.
"I cannot let anything detract from that. Nothing can be allowed to sabotage what we are trying to do."
