Arsenal Lead Chase With Europe's Best for Star Midfielder

Wenger's summer dealings have been anything but spectacular so far, but
there might be a little movement on the horizon. According to John
Cross of the Mirror, Arsenal are in the process of securing a one-week trial for United Arab Emirates star Omar Abdulrahman.
The 21 year-old is thought to be one of the most sought after young players in the world after having a very impressive year for club and country. Abdulrahman shined for the UAE at the Olympics in London and led his club team, Al Ain, to another league title with 16 assists and 8 goals.
Al Ain's deputy chairman of the board of directors, Rashid bin Mubarak Al Hajri, confirmed Arsenal's interest when speaking to the press this week: "Have we had an offer from Arsenal for him to come to train? Then yes.

"We've also had offers from Spanish teams, and other teams also, but the player will decide ultimately. We got a lot of offers for Omar. If he finds the right environment, then we will be very supportive.
"It's a package that will have to be right, where he can improve his football. I'll leave that for Omar - that's for him to decide."
Abdulrahman's efforts this year have certainly not gone unnoticed, with the midfielder already having spent time at Manchester City after the Olympics. Portuguese side SL Benfica were also thought to be after the midfielder in the January transfer window.
While movement in the transfer is a good sign for Arsenal, the fact that the club are interested in bringing in yet another relative unknown will continue to make life difficult for Arsene Wenger. The French manager has only secured one signing, Yaya Sanogo, this summer, while his league counterparts have already spent hundreds of millions of pounds strengthening their sides with some of the world's best talent.
