Gervinho on brink of move

First up and the Daily Star are one of several news outlets who’re reporting that Arsenal are on the verge of selling Gervinho to Italian side Roma.
The Ivory Coast international has fallen out-of-favour at the Emirates after failing to live-up to his price-tag following an £10.8m move from Lille in 2011, and he’s been tipped for a move this summer.
The Star claim that Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini flew into London on Friday and held ‘positive’ talks, with an £8m deal understood to be close to completion.
Roma are now managed by former Lille boss Rudi Garcia, who knows Gervinho well from their time together in France, and it seems he’s keen to link-up with the 26-year-old again in Serie A. An apparent source told the newspaper:
“Garcia has made Gervinho his top choice.
“He knows only too well of his capabilities and that is why Roma will pay a higher price.”
So another player could be heading out the exit door at Arsenal and fans will be hoping the club start to concentrate on bringing player into the club during the closing weeks of the transfer window.
