Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has
said that he is looking forward to developing a strong partnership with
midfielder Jack Wilshere as both of them look to put previous injuries behind
them.
The two youngsters have developed
together as a pairing ever since Arsenal signed Ramsey from Welsh side Cardiff
City, but serious injuries to both of them at separate times have prevented
them from playing a lot alongside of each other.
During an away game against Stoke
City, the Welshman suffered a broken leg after a rash Ryan Shawcross challenge
and that saw him ruled out for just over a season.
As for Wilshere, he has only just
come back from an ankle injury that kept him out of action for 17 months.
Now the two are back playing
regularly in he first time and Ramsey is delighted to be playing alongside
Wilshere and insists that the two are looking forward to developing a
formidable partnership in the heart of the Arsenal midfield.
"Hopefully now we're both back
fit we'll have more of an opportunity to play together.
"We understand each other and
we've been training together for a while. I played with Tomas [Rosicky] towards
the end of last season and that seemed to work so it's only getting stronger as
the season goes on.
"The injury I had takes a while
to get over and to get mentally back into it.
"But I feel really good at the
moment. I'm happy with my form and can't wait for the season to get going now
to get back and hopefully kick on from where I left off.
"The lads are confident [about
the new season]," added Ramsey. "We had
a great run-in at the end of last season and we've carried on from where we
left off."
