By David KentAfter the euphoria of Mesut Ozil's £42.5million transfer on deadline day, Arsenal have been dealt a major blow after being told Lukas Podolski faces three months out of action due to injury.
Arsenal's medical staff were already resigned to losing the forward for between eight and 10 weeks, but their counterparts with the German national team have run further tests and insist Podolski faces even longer on the sidelines.
Dr Hans-Muller Wohlfahrt, who conducted Ozil's medical on behalf of Arsenal with the playmaker in Germany ahead of his country's World Cup qualifier against Austria on Friday, delivered the news to the Gunners on Tuesday.

Podolski told German daily newspaper Bild: 'Unfortunately I'll be out a long while, around three months.'
