Dortmund ace plays down Arsenal move
Borussia Dortmund full-back Lukasz Piszczek has distanced himself from a potential move to Arsenal.
The Polish international has recently emerged as a candidate to replace Bacary Sagna at the Emirates Stadium, with Arsene Wenger preparing for his possible exit when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Pisczeck has become one of Dortmund’s key men in recent years, but has been out of action for some time with a hip injury.
The 28-year-old, however, says that he is only focused on returning to the first-team, and is not thinking about a possible move to Arsenal.
“Even though I have a little pain now and then, it is definitely much better than before the operation. I am satisfied,” he is quoted by talkSPORT.
“My goal is to come back for the second half of the season.
“On the other hand, I will do nothing unnecessary to put myself under pressure after such a major operation.”
Dortmund are in no hurry to sell Piszczek, with his current contract set to run until 2017.
However, Wenger is still thought to be keen, and is considering a move once the January transfer window opens.
Arsenal are also keen on the defender’s team-mate Ilkay Gundogan.
