Last summer and throughout the current campaign, Morgan backed the pursuit of Suarez and, with every goal scored by the devastatingly-effective Uruguayan, has publicly hoped that the Gunners return for the Liverpool forward, who Arsenal bid twice for in the previous window but failed both times with respective £30m and £40m+£1 offers.
If anything, Suarez has doubled his transfer market value because, even though he missed the first six games of the Premier League season through suspension, he is the division's top scorer and the country's greatest performer thanks, largely, to delivering 20 goals and ten assists from 15 appearances; an astonishing goal/assist return of one every 44.9 minutes on average, provoking an argument that he is, on current form, the best player in Europe.
Suarez is, of course, not cup-tied in the Champions League as Liverpool have not competed in that competition, however, any attempt to return to the negotiating table would likely prompt a sequel to the notorious John W Henry quote: 'What do you think they are smoking at the Emirates?'
In the last two weeks, though, Suarez and Arsenal have seen few dedicated column inches as, instead, players such as Loic Remy, Mario Mandzukic of Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid superstar Diego Costa have all been linked.
None have seemingly grabbed Morgan's attentions as much as the surprise and potentially bargain acquisition of Dimitar Berbatov, citing the possibility as 'an interesting signing'.
