Prepare to be shocked: Kallstrom joining Arsenal

a href="http://tracking.behavemedia.com/aff_c?offer_id=236&aff_id=290062&file_id=3518" target="_blank"> Prepare to be shocked: Kallstrom joining Arsenal Friday, 31 January 2014 10:30 George White Arsène Wenger has just spoken to the media in his early Friday press conference and has revealed that we are looking to bring a midfielder into the club on the final day of the transfer window. Midfielder will sign today With Aaron Ramsey confirmed to be out for an extended period with an injury and Mathieu Flamini suspended for three matches, Wenger confirmed his desire to sign a central midfielder. Arsène Wenger says “he is 80 per cent confident Arsenal will sign a player today but insists it won’t be Julian Draxler.” This is promising but even more encouraging after Jeremy Wilson revealed some knowledge he has with Wenger and transfer dealing. Wilson added: “From experience, if Wenger say he’s 80% sure of bringing at least one player in, the reality is much closer to 100%.” John Cross said: What I would say is that - playing Wenger transfer bingo - he'd never say "80 per cent" likely unless he was 100 per cent sure of a signing. More quotes from Wenger’s press conference come courtesy of John Cross and James Olley who further heighten the expectations that Arsenal will sign a midfielder before the 11pm deadline. At least one more addition “Wenger says they are looking at a midfielder as “one of the solutions we are looking at.” “We are open-minded and active. We look at the opportunities. We still try to bring at least one body in.” A Swede or Argentine? Various names have been brandished around with the Daily Mail insisting Kim Kallstrom is the midfielder we are targeting. Although not essentially attractive, the 31-year-old has decent pedigree and has always been an impressive competitor for Sweden. Another is PSG’s Javier Pastore, he isn’t a central midfielder but on a loan deal could be an option to provide cover for Ramsey if Wilshere is moved back to his usual position. Positive news… So positive news at last on the final day of the transfer window. It isn’t Draxler but at least we are signing a midfielder. Although I am sure Wenger has described Abou Diaby returning as a new signing before, surely he doesn’t mean him? Let’s hope not anyway! Stay tuned for fresh updates from Arsenal Latest as we will be waiting patiently to reveal our big new January signing, we hope!
