Vucinic in London? Is it enough to help Arsenal win BPL trophy?

Is Vucinic worth signing? by KJEver since the beginning of this January window, Arsenal have been linked with out of favour Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic. The Montenegrin international is failing to get the game time he wants with Llorente and Tevez the preferred choice. The rumours are becoming stronger as the window draws to a close, and today there are unconfirmed reports from Italy, according to Eurosport that he will be in London today for his Gunners medical. But is this loan deal for Vucinic really the right option for the club?
At 30 years old, we are certainly buying experience, with him playing at the top level for a long time as well as the Champions league. The only problem is that it being a loan, it’s only a short term solution and it doesn’t really solve this striker problem we have. He also doesn’t provide runs in behind from the striker position. This has been a sort of weakness for us especially with Walcott suffering a long term injury. We can’t really vary our play and play balls in behind.
He is a different striker to Giroud and is trickier than the tall Frenchman. However, he suffers the same problem Giroud does and that’s the lack of clinical finishing. You’d think that his addition is almost solely as a second choice if Giroud gets injured or to give him a rest. He definitely offers a far bigger threat in the striker position than Bendtner who was also behind Vucinic during his loan to Juventus. His movement is far better and he seems more motivated to play football than the Dane.
Ultimately, signing Vucinic could be some good business for the Gunners on a loan deal. It provides us more depth in the striker position and ensures that even with an injury to Giroud, there won’t be a massive drop off from how we play with him. We can then go out in the summer and spend big money on a world class striker. Then we can go on and move our team up another level next season.
Assuming Vucinic does sign, will he provide enough extra threat up front this season to help Arsenal to put this infuriating trophy drought behind us?
