Aaron Ramsey has been speaking to the media in New York as Arsenal get ready to face the Red Bulls on Saturday evening. The Welshman, who was Arsenal’s player of the season last year, is targeting a push on from what was achieved with the FA Cup win and has his sights set on winning a ‘few things.’ He said “Having not played in the World Cup, I’m itching to get playing again. It was a fantastic achievement from Germany. They have always been very strong in the World Cup and the European Championship. “They have a great team spirit and what happened is fantastic for both them and the club. “It means now we are hungry to win things. “We want the same feeling we had after winning the FA Cup as well. There is always pressure on us but we will be trying to win a few things this season.” About the new signings, he added “They are fantastic signings. Sanchez had a great World Cup with Chile as well, so we are looking forward to playing with him and I am sure he will settle in fine. “This time we will have a few weeks together and that will help. “We really have a good team spirit and we are hungrier than ever to win more things.” Arsene Wenger revealed that he had to speak to the midfielder prior to his blossoming on the pitch due to the hard time he was getting from a section of the home support. Limiting the time he was playing him at the Emirates, wenger said he told Ramsey “He went through a bad patch and I couldn’t play him any more. “He had to come back to a more simple game. Aaron accepted that, he did it and he gained confidence again. When I came out of the meeting I knew this guy would come back. Aaron listened and he realised he had to change his game.” Wenger also revealed that he assured Ramsey that it wasn’t that the fans didn’t like him it was just they didn’t like the way he was playing. My how that has changed.
